Common Sense Media's edtech review program ran from 2013 to 2025, during which time our editors reviewed over 3,000 edtech tools for educators and classrooms. While the program is taking a break, we want to acknowledge all of the developers and educators who have helped make this robust program a go-to resource for edtech advice and innovations. If you have any questions that aren't answered below, feel free to reach out to [email protected].
As of January 2026, Common Sense Education is taking a break from publishing and updating edtech reviews. We are not completing new reviews or review updates at this time. The content on the review pages, lists, and EdTech Selections for Learning will no longer be updated, and will be removed from our site entirely in February.
While we're pausing edtech reviews, you can still stay up to date on kids' technology and media trends impacting today's classrooms by subscribing to our educator newsletter. You can view EdTech Privacy Ratings here, conducted by our affiliate Common Sense Privacy. We also offer a variety of other resources including our Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum, our AI literacy lessons, AI risk assessments, and professional development courses.
Yes! Ratings and reviews of media—including movies, TV shows, and books—are separate from edtech reviews, and you can check out our latest media reviews here.
If you have already submitted a form to request a new review or an updated review for your product, your request has been logged in our system and will remain in our records, should we resume reviews or updates in the future, or begin creating other types of content that showcases edtech tools. At this time, we're unable to provide timelines or individual status updates.
We are not updating existing reviews at all, including small corrections to existing reviews. This includes language tweaks, screenshots, and logos. If you believe that your review contains significant factual errors, or you would like the review removed for any reason, you may contact us at [email protected] to take the page down. If you'd like your privacy review updated or have any questions about existing privacy reviews, please contact [email protected].
Not at this time. Since products can only be included on lists after a full editorial review has been completed and published on our site, we are not currently adding new products to curated lists or Best in Class lists.
Privacy reviews are conducted by our affiliate Common Sense Privacy. If you're interested in a new privacy evaluation, or have any questions about existing privacy reviews, please contact [email protected].
If you're interested in partnership opportunities outside of edtech reviews, please contact [email protected]. You can also learn more on our partnership page.
While reviews are paused, you can stay informed about tech and media trends impacting classrooms by subscribing to our educator newsletter.
