How I Use It
I have used Edmodo to post quizzes and polls. I have also used it to post links that I want my students to go to. One of the links that I posted for my students was, "On the trail of Captain John Smith," on National Geographic Kids. My students had to watch the videos and play the games, and then, they had to get back on Edmodo and write a paragraph of at least three new facts they learned about John Smith. I have also used Edmodo as a place to post student work, like PowerPoints, so they could view each others and their parents could see them.
I like Edmodo, but it can be time-consuming if you make quizzes on there that you have to check. They do offer you the Multiple Choice option, and it will grade it for you. Kids really enjoy it because it looks like Facebook, but sometimes, they want to post silly comments that don't relate to learning! As the teacher, you can apply a setting that enables you to approve every post from a student before anyone else sees it. Also, you can make multiple groups inside of your class, so you could use it for small groups.
