My Take

I think this app could be very useful to reinforce physics classes, however, there needs to be some direction/ information from the teacher about why certain rocket designs don't work, why others work better, etc. The app doesn't TEACH, it only reinforces what students would be learning in a physics or advanced science class.

How I Use It

This app could be used in physics classes or math and science classes. Students use the app to build rockets and then can launch, orbit, dock and land the rockets. They have to figure out designs to make a survivable rocket and then can see how different designs orbit differently, have different trajectories, etc. The graphics for this game are crystal clear and engaging, and there are enough options, from basic to advanced, to keep students interested for many sessions.

Great way to use physics in an astronomy unit.

This app makes me wish that I was teaching 8th grade again. Once my students learned about the Laws of Motion early in the year, this a great way to review those laws during the Astronomy unit. Students will feel like they are playing a game but they have to apply their prior learning to help them be successful. I could easily see my students downloading this app onto their own personal devices and playing it. They would be learning while having fun.

Great tool for looking at physics in a new way

Overall this app was both fun and useful. I really like the engagement and options that the students have with the app. Without it the students would not be as engaged or have grown in the concept as much as they did.
