My Take

This is a great interactive learning tool to see how evolutionary actions have consequences on a global scale in modern societies. It is a fund and engaging game where students are given complete control of evolving their disease and seeing the impacts of their choices.

How I Use It

This would be a great product to use when introducing epidemiology, especially patterns and cause-and-effect situations. Students have complete control of where they want to start their disease on the planet and then gain points and use those points to evolve their organism in 3 different ways; transmission, symptoms, abilities. These evolutions cause an increase in one of three areas: infectivity, severity, and lethality. At the same time, the world scientists are working against you to come up with a cure for a student made disease.
Pros:
This can be used to teach safe health practices in the classroom environment (perhaps laboratory setting) or at home.
Cons:
In order to fully appreciate the full potential of this game, you would need to purchase the full game.
