Community Review for Plague Inc.
My Take
The way that I use the game, alot of planning is required and the game doesn't end fast enough to be completed in a normal period. Likewise, a full day class would be more appropriate for my application
How I Use It
I teach statistics of population, sample sizes first then I play the game. After the game, I add a tangent of multi variate regression. In advanced classes I introduce differential equations.

Create and spread a disease and see how many you can infect with one teeny tiny pathogen. Fun and informative.
I really like this game. It drives home the idea that I am trying to instill in my students; to be safe. In their lives they need to watch for symptoms and transmission points and this game illustrates that very well. All students, no matter their learning levels, were able to enjoy this game. Some Spanish speakers needed a little bit of help with words but they caught on quickly. Be aware that students quickly get involved in their games and don't want to leave class or they secretly try to play when you have moved onto another lesson on another day. I use it, after the initial introduction, for students who have completed assignments early as a reward for good work.

Great visualization and simulation on how bacteria can adapt and evolve to take over the world!
This is a great interactive learning tool to see how evolutionary actions have consequences on a global scale in modern societies. It is a fund and engaging game where students are given complete control of evolving their disease and seeing the impacts of their choices.
