Community Review for Parable of the Polygons
My Take
I greatly appreciate the spirit in which this website was created. It solidified some ideas I had floating around and may even be a great bit of pre-reading for texts that will deal with "staying with your own" like The Outsiders.
How I Use It
For character education (a natural part of an English classroom when reading Holocaust or Civil Rights texts), this interactive website shows students a concept of bias, its effects on society, and why simply eliminating bias where it once had been is not the answer. Good also for a quick engagement piece if you find yourself in the computer lab and some students are doen where others are not.

Allow Students to Experience the Benefits of Diversity in a Creative Way!
This activity would be a great, simple teaching tool. I love the fact that it is internet-based, thus requiring no setup, and that it teaches such a deep lesson about diversity in such a fun way. It makes the "player" consider his own thoughts about tolerance and prejudice, even with some simple shapes to guide the way. Even if you choose not to use this with your classroom students, it would be great for a church youth group or your own children as well.
