I am a proud product of Fort Bend ISD's wonderful teachers and schools, and am equally proud to have spent my nine-year teaching career in FBISD. As an educator and Abydos Trainer, I strive to be the guide on the side. Skill-building of any kind - reading, writing, speaking, using technology - is about building up a student who takes the driver's seat to the classroom.

The words that best sum up me as a teacher and presenter are innovative, reflective, and strategic. All of these boil down to one trait: thoughtful. When crafting lessons and assignments, I am purposeful in my approach. Merely throwing movement or technology or grouping into a lesson will not necessarily result in more learning. I'm methodical in lesson planning, drawing on experience, brain and cognitive development theory, and the creative drive I have that makes me demand more of myself and of my students.
