My Take
Nearpod is a great multi-media teaching and learning tool. Nearpod allows teachers to implement a variety of learning tools in one space, so they can reach many different types of learners in each lesson. For example, I can use different media to present the information: links to websites, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, live Twitter streams, videos, etc. Students also have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in a variety of modalities: through answering open-ended questions, responding to polls or quiz questions, or building or designing new content based on what they've learned through the task. This helps all types of learners access the content.
How I Use It
I would use Nearpod to redefine my social studies instruction. It would allow me to present the information in a variety of modalities. Students can work at their own pace and I can receive on-the-spot feedback of how they are doing with the learning task. This allows me to provide timely support to my students.
