My Take
The interactivity is key; a lesson can be advanced so much by simply providing formative checks and interactive elements. Nearpod can ensure that you're getting feedback from your entire audience (class). For teachers that have existing Powerpoint presentations, Nearpod lets you import the presentation and add interactive elements. This tool is extremely easy to use even for novice users. Another bonus is that you can search and download already made lessons.
How I Use It
I've used Nearpod as a professional development vehicle. The audience connects to a Nearpod session via a pin; they're prompted to enter their name to join the session. This works for teachers that want to "have control" while students are connected to the presentation. Students see what you see, at the pace that you choose. I've relied on Nearpod as a way to interact with my audience while presenting information. I'm able to insert interactive elements in Nearpod which include questions, fill in the blanks, and even prompts for the audience to draw a picture. Nearpod can instantly turn a passive activity into an active activity.
