My Take

Nearpod has the capability of being a fantastic synchronous learning environment for our students. The collaboration aspect in live time will allow any group creating a presentation to work seamlessly together, whether they are all together in one location or they are on two different continents!

One key element I have found in NOT implementing Nearpod is the learning curve aspect for educators. One of my jobs as a TIS is to try to share programs such as Nearpod with my colleagues at my schools and hopefully streamline their large learning curve.

How I Use It

When using Nearpod with a class, I'd use it on a regular basis to create and share content with students and to manage the speed and flow of the presentation and lesson. Engagement is a huge part of the program as students may use a diversity of interactive features such as videos, polls, drawing tools and quizzes. They also have the ability to access various presentations created by others to further enable them to learn, become critical thinkers and frontload on given units.

interactive features such as quizzes, videos, polls, drawing tools, and more. They can also access featured presentations from certified publishers and fellow educators.

Teachers use Nearpod to share content with their students and to manage the flow of the lecture. Students use Nearpod on their mobile devices to receive multimedia content and to participate in engaging assessment and collaboration activities.
