My Take

I was very pleased with this experience with students. Each student was able to share his/her connection in a format that they selected (image, quote, video, text). I really liked that the class was all operating in a group and it was easy for me to access the lino boards to grade. The only thing that I wish was possible was to comment on each sticky or to extend discussion on the sticky notes. I don't know if this is within the capacity of the app, because a sticky note should only be so big!

How I Use It

I used Lino in a 1:1 iPad environment and students had the Lino app loaded on their iPads. I created a group with all class members and within this group I had Lino boards created. This was a flipped lesson in which students were to watch a TED talk on their own (I inserted the video in the Lino board). Then they had to share a sticky on a text to self connection and a text to world connection with the TED talk. Students could write their response or find an image/quote that symbolized their connection. Students' responses were powerful and varied with multiple literacies.
