My Take
It is very time consuming on the teacher's part with putting info in to get the program up and running. I like getting the updates on my phone on the progress of my students. I don't have to do all the planning at school. I am able to access it from my phone, my iPad, or my computer from home. It's just the time that is involved and the money I spend to get my students to keep going, but I would do whatever it takes to make them successful. :)
How I Use It
I use it with my special ed students to work with problem areas in math. I use the areas that are identified on their IEP that he/she are weak in and assign that grade level and math application to that particular student. The student works independently and I monitor their progress on line with the program and an email is sent to me. I use a sticker reward system. For each lesson that is completed with a 95% completion rate the student gets a sticker. When 10 stickers are acquired, then the student can get either a $5 McDonald gift card or wait until 20 are acquired for a $10 iTunes card. They love it!!
