My Take

Gracie & Friends is clear and gives step by step directions. It provides verbal, step by step directions for students who need guidance and scaffolding. It provides good practice in one-on-one correspondence and allows for independent practice. However, the activities are repetitive and quickly bored the four-year-old who was playing.

How I Use It

I've used this with a pre-k student in a one-on-one scenario. Gracie & Friends offers good verbal directions, corrects when errors are made and provides positive reinforcement. When a second error is made, the program shows the correct number and gives another opportunity to choose the right answer.
