My Take

I need to give my students a little more time to work with Geogebra before the project. The learning curve is not that steep, but with the limited time we spend on the project, it would be helpful to my students if they had a better overall understanding of the basics of Geogebra.

How I Use It

We collected data from one Olympic event that men and women both participate in and an event that is not subjective. It must be an event that is measured in time or a length. We collected all the data for both men and women and plotted both sets of data. I had my students then highlight each set and find the linear regression of both sets. The question I posed was, "will men and women ever compete on the same playing field?"

Their answers could not be biased, but based on the lines of regression. We got sets that showed that men and women would compete on the same field and lines that suggested they would not. Then we had great discussions.
