My Take
This is a great tool for students to explain what they know without getting in front of the whole class to explain. You can add pictures, text, and write on the board as you speak. The biggest issue we had in the beginning was the recording had to be perfect and completed in entirety- so the whole thing needed to be redone when there was a little mistake. However, I believe you can erase some of the voiceover now, saving much time in creation of the projects. We do a lot of project based learning in my school, and this is a great way for students to share their work with others.
How I Use It
I often use it as a review to show that the students understood the connections and concepts. I also use it as a presentation option. It works well for small groups because you can hear and see that they each had a piece in the final product. It is great to use at the end of a unit, because you often hear the "teacher voice" come through
