Community Review for BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week
My Take
This works best with most of the features after the class has already been studying a topic. I feel like it works as just another tool in the overall learning experience, rather than doing written worksheet. Most all of the students can answer the questions. sometimes I reread them aloud for the lower level students.
How I Use It
I use this to sometimes introduce a topic especially people when we study biographies. The students usually watch the short video and take a quiz whole group. They beg to do the hard quiz first. It's amazing how absorbed they become and how much they learn in these mini lessons. Sometimes I use this in small groups

Great way to hook your students into a lesson, while keeping them engaged by using cute characters and story lines. I really like that BrainPOP Jr. has videos on all subjects and the videos range in topic.
I feel that BrainPOP Jr. is an excellent teaching tool. You can use it in every subject you teach. The kids enjoy the characters and the videos.

Lesson introductions that POP!
This BrainPop, Jr. extension is a great hook, but should not be used to replace teacher-led instruction or student inquiry. It is great to introduce a topic and spur conversations that let you know what students already know and/or what misconceptions they have about a new topic of study. I like that the videos use audio, video, and text to support different types of learners. Also, the videos are slightly interactive, offering questions to the viewer and multiple-choice quizzes at the end of the video. I wish that the app gave teachers feedback on students' answers to the quizzes. I also wish that there were more features on the app that are on the web-based version, like games and/or other activities that deepen understanding or require application of what students learned.

Great App to introduce new content!
BrainPOP Jr. is a great tool to use in the classroom. It teaches students in a fun and creative way. After watching the videos, my students refer back to what they learned from them during class discussions. This really shows me how beneficial BrainPOP Jr. is for my students. This app is engaging to all students, no matter their ability level. BrainPOP Jr. is a wonderful teaching tool to use to enhance classroom instruction.
