My Take

Students can view videos at their own pace, pausing or reviewing content as desired. Quizzes available at the end of a video test student knowledge, giving immediate feedback, with a total score presented at the conclusion. The visuals are simple and avoid distracting attention from content.

How I Use It

I was able to find several relevant videos on the Great Depression to enhance student understanding of the time period. The app has a lot of engaging content in numerous areas: science, social studies, English, math, arts & music, health and tech. I particularly like the publisher's quizzes. Students should be reading near grade level to take the quiz independently; low literacy or ELL students could be grouped with better readers to collaborate on answers to the quizzes to build their comprehension.
