I let my students build the blendspace
Community Review for Blendspace
My Take
I like anything that allows me to be organized visually. So this website is exactly my type of tool. I use a lot of web sites and videos in my lessons (tech teacher) so I can get everything in order on Blendspace. The nice thing is that it also links right into Edmodo, as there is a free app.
How I Use It
I love Blendspace for the ability to organize my lessons, but I turned it on it's head with one lesson and found an even better way to use it!
I had my students create a Blendspace. We were studying cyberbullying, so I had them work in teams of two to create spaces about cyberbullying based on what they would share with a younger relative. They could share news articles, videos, websites, as well as write up their own information to share.
They really enjoyed the lesson and it allowed for creativity. I actually let them choose the age groups that they wanted to create it for. Some were for little kids and included links to coloring pages and primary level stories about bullies. Some were geared towards middle school. But they were all interesting and required the students to search the internet and decide what resources were the best fit, based on the message they wanted to present. So I see this not only as a way to organize my lessons, but also as a way for my students to create content.
