Pear Deck is a game changer! Student engagement, scores, and understanding was MUCH higher than last year. Easy for me and my students.
Pear Deck has been amazing for just-in-time teaching. It allows my classroom to feel more like a big tutoring session rather than a lecture. More of the heavy lifting is being done by students, and I can see their thinking as it is happening. This allows me to make whole class adjustments, small group adjustments and intervene one-on-one if necessary. I feel like I have a better picture of where the entire class is as we are learning the material, rather than a day or two later when the homework is graded.

Great Interactive Tool for Presenting and Assessing
I thought it was great, primarily because of how engaged the students were during the lesson and how I was able to assess the students during the presentation much easier than other activities I've done. My only concern is not overusing it, so that it does not become stale in the classroom and student become bored and disinterested in it. Again, I wish there was more room to edit the templates they give you in Pear Deck for the dragging questions

Make your direct instruction engaging!
As a teaching tool, PearDeck is great. I like that I can upload slideshows from Powerpoint and Google Slides that I have already created and add questions to them quickly. The free version isn't limiting at all, which I appreciate, and the students have fun answering the questions. It is easy to use and to teach students and teachers to use as well -- Oh! And it doesn't require students to actually "log in" which is a great time saver!

Super Easy and Engaging Interactive Presentations
It is so nice to have Google integration to open new presentations and to gather student results. There are other interactive tools to present to students. But, I find Pear Deck one of the easiest and most intuitive tools out there. Something to keep in mind is that you are only able to have 30 concurrent users at the same time. There are also limits in how many uploads you can have in the free version.

Great for interactive math classes.
Pear Deck helps turn your class into an interactive activity. It is relatively easy to set up and you can run interactive questions on the fly. A great asset to math classes.

My world changed when I found this tool.
Students are engaged because they have to respond to what is being asked and they know I can see their answers. Students get excited when I choose their answer to read or show to the class. I still like to have students work out math work on whiteboards or notes, but I usually have them type or show me their final answers on Pear Deck. I can check 40 graphs quickly on my screen compared to checking 40 whiteboards. My only issue is that I like to use my smartboard and I cannot put the same Pear Deck presentation on my chromebook and my desktop at the same time. I get around that by only using my board for working out examples and my chromebook to move along the presentation. I think the free version would be great for most teachers. If you teach anything where drawing is necessary, you will need to pay for the premium version. The Pear Deck team is also amazing. I sent a question to them and I had a reply within minutes.
