Makes a great alternative to PowerPoint or Prezi!
A very powerful presentation website, with professional results produced relatively easily. If you had told me 6 or 7 years ago children would be able to make these kinds of presentations in class, I would not have believed you. You will need to direct it as a teacher though, as the site is geared towards a business audience. Don't let that put you off though, and one word of warning - if children sign up with the class code, make sure an email address is given. Without this, should they forget their password, it is not possible to reset it from any kind of 'teacher console' - this is a drawback of the site - the fact that you also can't see centrally all their work. Despite this, worth a try!

Although this site is new to me, I am excited about the classroom possibilities.
PowToons is easy to use and very engaging--for both teachers and students. I look forward to exploring the many possibilities this site offers.

Take a slideshow and make it great!
The program has a great deal of potential. I encourage my students use it in place of PowerPoint or Prezi. Many of my colleagues still have students complete PowerPoint presentations, but I recommend to students to ask if they can create a PowToon instead. I think PowToon is much easier to use when creating an more animated presentation. Plus, PowToon just upgraded the site to allow for the insertion of videos. I definitely think you should give it a try in your classroom.
