Real-time Engaging Game-Based Learning
I usually have the students pair up to one device so that they can talk about it before they submit their response. I also implement a 60 second wait time (I usually set the questions at 120 seconds) so that all students would be able to solve the math problems or think about the question before they submit their responses. This helps by holding them accountable to their solutions by making sure their is some sort of evidence or work behind their thinking.

A great assessment tool to use with mobile devices!
I find Kahoot.it to be very easy easy to set up and use. The teacher can create an account and access their information on getkahoot.it. The students entered their answers and I could get results immediately. I was also able to access the data at a later time. The students enjoyed the competition aspect of the game. I did struggle to shorten my questions and answers as there is a character limit on the questions. I try to match my questions to state assessments and they tend to be wordy. I was able to screen capture questions and add them as pictures. The competition aspect is good for most students. Some student were in such a hurry to answer the questions that they didn't carefully read the questions and answers.

Quick, fun way to assess students' understanding.
It is competitive and fun for the kids. It cannot be used all the time or the students will no longer find it exciting. It is just another form of a quiz, but I have noticed that the kids like it because it is different.

Good way to add engagement to quizzes.
Kahoot! is more than just a quiz site, when you are finished with a quiz you can download the results in an excel file. The file breaks down each question and users' response. As a teacher you can evaluate your quiz to see if you have created a reliable quiz.
There is a character limit for the questions and the answers.

Students love this game! Great way to review concepts before quiz or test! What I liked best is my less enthusiastic math students became so competitive and came alive in my class while playing, showing knowledge and building confidence!
I absolutely love this game for the ease of creating a review game to the engagement it provides my students. Love seeing my students get excited when they see their rank climb on their devices. Very competitive game - the majority of my students were truly into the game and asked often "are we playing kahoot today"?

Free and Easy Question/Answer tool
I think that Kahoot is easy to set up and use, however the music that is associated with the wait time for the activities can be aggravating- I wish there were more options with the music. You either have one type of song or no music at all, there is no happy medium.

Brings out the competitive nature in students.
As a teaching tool, Kahoot offers quick formative assessments or opportunities to practice content such as vocabulary. Since students fail to see the questions populated on their screen, running the game can be chaotic and disruptive. Until the company adds the ability to push out questions, I would experiment with the program, but would avoid using it on a consistent basis.

Kahoot gives a game show, countdown, quick thinking approach to reviewing for exams!
I really like this tool for quick reviews. I don't think I will use this for a long review game. It would work much better as a quick review at the beginning of the day to see what kids remembered from the previous day or a quick review at the end of the day to sum up information learned during that lesson. I could also see this used as a good questioning device to see what students or staff already know about a topic as you start a lesson or professional development.

Great way to review!
I love it! This makes quick assessments fun, competitive, and is accessible on anything with a browser. I've never had students get excited for a quiz before! I especially love that I can download a spreadsheet after the assessment to check out the results for individual students. Embedding a review video before the Kahoot quiz allows students an opportunity to review material in order to be fresh for the test.

Kahoot is one of the most fun and engaging apps I have seen.
Kahoot has caught fire, and is leaving my teachers and students ready for more. This app is straightforward, and simple enough for teachers to implement in the classroom the next day. I think I am now a Kahoot Evangelist! This app is a must for every teacher!
What it is: Kahoot is a FREE, game-based classroom response system. It is highly engaging and motivating for students. As they answer questions, they get feedback and a game-based leader board. This is a great app for reviewing concepts. It works on just about any web-enabled device, including phones, tablets, laptops, etc.
