My Take
I find Kahoot.it to be very easy easy to set up and use. The teacher can create an account and access their information on getkahoot.it. The students entered their answers and I could get results immediately. I was also able to access the data at a later time. The students enjoyed the competition aspect of the game. I did struggle to shorten my questions and answers as there is a character limit on the questions. I try to match my questions to state assessments and they tend to be wordy. I was able to screen capture questions and add them as pictures. The competition aspect is good for most students. Some student were in such a hurry to answer the questions that they didn't carefully read the questions and answers.
How I Use It
We have used this product in different ways. We would start a new topic by asking the students questions to assess their prior knowledge. We would also use it at the end of a lesson to review material. It is very easy for the teacher to enter questions and answers and students could quickly respond on their devices. Students in my classroom used participated either using their smartphones, iPads or Laptops. The students loved the explanation videos and image that I could add. The competition aspect makes it very engaging. Students would read the questions and quickly respond to get the most points. The students would wait with anticipation to see their score. If students did not well, I would review the questions with them.
