Great math gaming program that keeps students engaged.
Having used quite a few online math programs throughout my teaching career, what I have noticed is that the students begin with great enthusiasm, and then, in a short period of time, that energy and interest diminishes. This has not occurred with Prodigy. The students' engagement and excitement remains, and they look forward to using it both in class and at home.
The program also has a wide variety of reports that help the teacher determine the needs of the students. These needs can be addressed by assigning specific skills either individually or to the class as a whole. I have found Prodigy to be a great teaching tool.

Looking for Student Engagement During Math Review? Check out Prodigy!!
Prodigy is a great review and motivational tool. There are light bulbs that pop up next to questions to remind students of how to solve the problem. It is not a stand-alone teaching tool without teacher engagement. Its purpose is to provide students with an engaging way to practice and master concepts and skills while keeping their attention.
My favorite part is being able to select skills for students based on need. This is the most comprehensive individualized math program I have seen that not only keeps my students' attention but encourages them to keep going as they want to battle each other and earn prizes for their character. I really enjoy the fact that it can be played at home. The majority of my students can not afford the option of becoming a member so that is the only drawback because the kids see amazing prizes for their character. I hope one day they will have surprise prizes where students all over could earn a Members only prize and it would work!
This program is a treat for my students and for me. I really like the reports that it provides so that I can see and share with my students their progress and skill areas to focus on. The excitement for this math program is unprecedented. We hold tournaments and work together to defeat the Titan and earn crystals. I am so thankful that this math program is available for my students.

Great for differentiation and reluctant learners!
It's more of a chance for students to practice than a teaching tool. Its gives me as the teacher great data when it comes to students' strengths and weaknesses with different standards.

Great for reluctant learners
This is great for incentivizing math work. Students will play this during indoor recess versus doing other activities with friends because they are battling each other while completing math problems. Other programs might have kids answer more questions, but this platform keeps kids coming back excited over and over.

My students love this Website! Its fun and keeps them engaged!
It allows for independent practice in and out of school and also allows me to be able to work with individual students with less distraction. My one knock on this program is that I think it needs some more challenging content for the high flyers in my classes.

Engaging tool that allows teachers to assess, provide remediation and enrichment for all students!
Prodigy is not meant to be an entire math curriculum. However, it fits in very well with other good teaching strategies and good pedagogy. Prodigy is a supplemental tool that students LOVE. It allows for easy differentiation by the teacher and is great for a quick assessment tool. Students have never had so much fun being assessed! It's important that teachers use good management practices when using prodigy, as with all technology and activities. Students should know what is expected of them when they are "playing" and should be held accountable for their work on the site.
