I started to use Remind 101 this year because I have many students that have IEP's. Each parent requested that I sent them the homework each night. That was in addition to posting on our school homework/grading program. I found that once they signed up for the classes their children were in, I could send a Remind 101 notice and that was enough. I has saved me hours of work. Sometimes it would take me 1/2 hour or more at the end of the day to send individual emails. There is a limited amount of characters and I tend to be long winded, so I have had to learn how to write more to the point and with less words.

Remind101 is a tool that allows teachers to increase completion rate and offer reminders to students. It is so frustrating when a lesson requires students to bring particular items to class, and they forget them. This app can help make class time more effective by increasing the completion rate of assignments. The only drawback is if students can't receive text messages.

I love being able to communicate with my students the way they communicate. All of my students text, so having the ability to send a text is great.

Remind101 is an awesome tool! I do not use it with my students because I teach elementary school, but I do use it with the girls I coach through basketball. This website/app allows me to send text messages to my players and their parents and it is efficient and easy to use. I love that the players do not have the capability to respond to my texts, making it a fast, yet private way to communicate. As a teacher and coach, you always hear the horror stories about students who get their teachers' numbers and then abuse it. Remind101 allows me to contact my players without the worry. I also like that you can print off a record of all of the messages you have sent so you have documentation in case someone were to question your professionalism. I know my wife uses this tool to keep in contact with her students (high school). She likes it too because kids do not have an excuse that they "didn't know" something was due. I think schools in general should use it to get information out to kids quickly.

Great secure tool for communicating with parents and students! I send out tech tips, event reminders & other important information! I like that parents must include a name when registering, so I know who is signed up, and I like that parents can't "reply all" like in a text message. I would however like to be able to add parents myself. For example, with a parents consent and number, add them to my distribution list through the website.

This allows students and parents to be informed on a daily basis regarding HW, classwork and assessments. It also keeps parents informed on all school activities.

I use Remind101 to connect with both students and parents. I send out reminders regarding homework, test dates, project due dates, etc. They students express to me that this is super helpful and has a huge impact on them in terms of keeping up with our class. Parents thank me for going the "extra mile" to make sure that everyone is on the same page - teachers - parents - students. It is a win-win situation!

Very effective tool. I like the fact that you are able to notify parents and students about upcoming assignments and events. It is great for the forgetful student and informing parents about homework!
