Bio
I am a programmer/analyst that left the business sector when my children were born. I was asked to be a substitute teacher in the computer room at my daughter's school. I loved teaching. So I applied for my teaching certificate. I have been teaching technology education and business education since 2001.
I currently teach at a Catholic school in Pennsylvania. I teach technology to grades 3 year old preschool through 8th grade. My additional subjects vary from year to year. In additional to all technology, I currently teach or have taught: Preschool Art, Music, and Spanish, 5th Grade Spelling, 5th, 6th, 7th Grade Composition, 8th Grade Research, 7th and 8th grade Religion, 6th Grade Math, 7th grade Pre-Algebra and remedial math, 8th Grade Algebra, and 8th grade Literature and Spelling.
I enjoy Tech Ed very much. I spend most of my free time looking at and creating websites, apps, and lesson plans that I feel are the best practices for Tech Ed for the age ranges that I teach.
I have created a website for my classes where I have collected many of the sites that I feel ave educational and intriguing for my students. The website is http://www.approved-websites.org.
I look forward to learning and sharing with all communities on Edmodo. At a small school, we work in a vacuum with hopefully at least one other teacher to learn from and bounce ideas off of. Connecting with other tech ed educators and seeing how they use technology in their schools is a very exciting experience that I am looking forward to.
