Web Based Social Video Editing
Video editing on the web is a fantastic advantage for all learners, particularly those with limited access to expensive devices and software. Easy to learn although requiring lots of practice to master. The ability to create directly from Google Drive is a great advantage as it eases the process of initiating projects and finding them later to continue editing, especially for those who already use Google Drive in the classroom.

Online movie making made easy!
Creating movies used to be difficult, and had to be done on one computer in isolation. WeVideo allows the user to create their videos online, on different platforms with ease. I can create on a PC, thens switch to a Mac, and finish on a Chromebook! It's easy to use, easy to create, and easy to share. If you've used iMovie on a Mac or MovieMaker on a PC, you'll have no problems making this app work for you. If you're going to use this app with students under the age of 13, remember to check the terms of use so that you know what permission you need to get from parents.
My biggest tip in using WeVideo is to always switch your Timeline to the Advanced view so that you can have more options with voice recording and soundtracks. (https://wevideo.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/834249-how-to-switch-between-storyboard-timeline-and-advanced-editing-modes-)

Great web-based option for video editing
I think that the free version of WeVideo is a bit limited but has potential. Support and tutorials were not as strong as I'd hoped for either the teacher or the student. Having some knowledge of video editing is very helpful. I felt like some of the functionality was not intuitive (like adding additional media or still clips). If using the free version, be aware that there are storage limitations, which means that you may have to delete from time to time to continue creating videos.

Video Creation and Editing for Students - Anywhere on Any Device!
WeVideo is a GREAT online video making tool that students can learn quickly and create excellent end products. The online "Web 2.0" nature of this tool cannot be overstated as a plus. With built in themes and multiple editor modes, the tool can go to very basic to more advanced depending on the age or sophistication of the users. Collaboration in real time is possible (in the paid Educational version) and even in the free version the content can be shared instead of messing around with uploading and downloading issues.

Easy web based program to create videos combining audio, video, photos, and more.
WeVideo is a great tool students can use to create videos that combine music, narration, video clips, and text slides. Unlike other programs I have used in the past, this is web based, so students can work on their videos anywhere with an internet connection. There are also apps for Apple and Android, but I haven't used those.
In my district, students in grades 3-12 have Google Apps logins. That makes it easy for students to create accounts with one click. They can also link to their Google Drive and save projects there. It does take students a bit to get used to the program, but it's pretty intuitive. It's nice that there can be so much customization. Students can upload music along with video and narration, and the volume on each can be adjusted as needed.
WeVideo has been great, for the most part, about responding to questions. The only problem I had recently was an error when trying to finish a movie. Even though the student had 15 minutes of space, he was told his video was too long and that his limit was 2 minutes.

I was so excited when WeVideo came out. There had not been an online video editor since Jaycut and the world needed a new one!
So glad to have an online video editor back. I was so upset when Jaycut was no more and was thrilled to have WeVideo fill that void. I will say that I had some students use it at home and there was a lot of confusion until I worked with them. Once I explained a few things, they were very easily able to finish their project quickly and easily.

WeVideo is quick and easy.
WeVideo is a quick and easy video editing tool. It has several editing options such as trimming videos, adding music, adding voice, rearranging sequence, etc. It is easy to learn and can even be linked to a Google Drive account for sharing. While WeVideo is not as robust as many advanced video editing programs, it is a good product for the beginning user.

Great way to create collaborative videos with students!
We Video's collaborative structure allows teachers and students to work together to create movies. The choice between storyboard editing and timeline editing allows both kinds of video editors to feel successful. The fun themes allow students to easily show their personal style in the work.
