Great for all ages
I have used Padlet successfully with students in second through fifth grade, although I can imagine uses at every grade level. It is extremely easy to use and students enjoy the instant results that may be achieved through their efforts. Students see their responses immediately appear on "the wall" and they may also view classmate answers as they are entered.

Great Collaboration Tool
I love Padlet. It's been such a great resource for my Physics class. It's extremely user friendly and can be easily shared while maintaining privacy. It seriously takes less than 5 minutes to create a wall and share it with a class so they can begin adding their ideas. My students can share ideas whether we're in class or they are all away from school. We also use it to present information. It's much better than having each student separately connect their laptops to the Promethean board to broadcast slides, videos, or interesting photos. Everything is online, so I can go to one of our walls and project whatever is being presented. It also provides an outlet for students that are absent or didn't get the opportunity to orally share their answers to have a virtual voice in the class. My students seem more comfortable sharing ideas on a wall than just raising their hands or having a normal discussion.

A terrific brainstorming tool
Padlet allows you to create an interactive bulletin board and share it with students in just minutes. Students add notes to the board, which has a number of visual theme and color choices. This is a terrific website for group brainstorming, collaboration and mind mapping.
The real-time interactivity really ups the engagement level for students. The screen can become crowded with overlapping notes, but the ability to download to a PDF cleans it up nicely.

Amazing tool for exit tickets, brainstorming, note taking etc!!
I think Padlet is an amazing classroom collaboration tool. The walls created can be password protected to prevent anyone from outside of the class from participating in the ideas posted on the wall. Student motivation is extemely high because of the collaboration aspect.

Padlet is an engaging way to post thoughts and information for the whole class to see.
Padlet allows students to answer a question on a virtual discussion board. Students can respond in meaningful ways or they may need some prodding. My sixth grade students are very motivated by the opportunity to interact with each other. Padlet provides this opportunity. My students post questions about things they need clarifying. I am able to answer their questions, add links to their comments, and aid in their learning. However, the students tend to give silly answers and avoid answering the questions posed at times. Students can post on padlet even if they don't sign up. However, there is no real way to track who has posted if they don't log in.I chose Padlet above all similar products because of the ease of signing up and getting kids on the website. It is very easy to get started.

Easy Interactive Web Boards
Padlet is a very easy to use program that allows you to create boards on which students can post information. Think virtual cork board.
The boards are customizable with layout freedom, different backgrounds, fonts, etc.
In the boxes you create by double clicking on the wall, you can add text, upload documents, or provide links to web based content.
Helpful features: The walls can also be made private, password protected, with hidden links, or public. You can add users by entering their email address or sharing the padlet address with them—you can use the automatically generated address or create your own. You can even sign up to have notifications sent to you when someone posts on the wall. And, you can moderate posts to approve them before they appear on the wall. You can also use it across a variety of devices.
The good and the bad: The best part of this feature is that you can have small groups collaborate from multiple machines without needing to connect through email addresses—and they can see all of the content. Simply share the padlet address with your group. They can post new boxes to the wall, but will be unable to alter those already created. If you want to give your students more control of the padlet, you will need to add them via an email address.
Downsides: Changes to the wall can only be made within the first 24 hours if you are not signed in. If you decide to create a login, you have control over your wall after that time period.
