Fun, easy to use tool for quick in-class assessment or feedback
This is great quick sharing tool. Students do NOT need to create their own accounts. I made my a tinyurl out of the page I wanted them to respond to. It's a great way to have public sharing. All the student needs is my padlet page's url.

Online Corkboard - Best Around
I love this website. It looks good; it is easy to use; and it is easy for students to get information to the class.
I think this is the best way to have students collaborate without their own accounts or added work.

Collaborative, visual bulletin board for all ages and content areas
Overall, this is an engaging and interactive way to have students show what they know and to provide examples/ideas in a public setting. There are many visual backgrounds, the tools are simple to use, and students don't have to log in to use the site. This is a wonderful tool to support visual learners and to include students who do not typically like sharing in front of the class.
Using this site as a teacher is a great way for me to quickly check the understanding of a simple concept and get a feel for any misconceptions there may be. For students, it helps them collaborate with others and see different ways of thinking about things or for them to see different examples. If the students create the Padlet wall, it requires them to organize information and think about the effectiveness of how/where/what is included in the wall.
I also really like the options of sharing the completed wall. There are options to share the site (or keep it private!), share it through social media sites, or embed the wall in a blog post or website. There is also the option of turning the wall into a QR code.

I love using padlet as a backchannel!
This is a great way to comment and crowdsource. The only thing I don't care for is the way posts can overlap and block one another. I don't think this tool is an "in depth" tool, but it does support the method of backchanneling and the wall can be exported for archiving and sharing.

A great way to summarize learning at the end of a workshop!
It is a great way to collect reflective information, or questions to guide a discussion. Like the old "parking lot" chart paper, padlet gives a collaborative space to pose questions and/or summarize learning etc..

The digital version of the analog post-it board. And it's awesome.
Overall I think Padlet is a great website and resource. It is a great way to create public, collaborative boards online. It very much takes the "analog" notion of post-it notes on chart paper and moves it to the internet. It also takes it up a notch by allowing the users to insert links and other media into their posts, making the board much more dynamic. Padlet has also allowed suers to claim unique username/urls making it even easier to give out the address of a board to a class.

Terrific way to communicate and organize your resources
As a teaching tool, I would highly recommend it. I can also see this easily working with my students -especially if it is accessed for a unit before or after a unit has initiated. For example, if we wanted students to view videos or access websites for information - they could just access this in order to get organized quickly. Many of my students either type very slowly or do not proofread their typing when they are typing in a website. With padlet, they are able to access one site, and then click on something that would take them to a resource necessary for their learning.
