Levels up presentations through collaboration and versatility
Voice Thread is an amazing resource for making presentations and information sharing through enhanced collaboration.Students can build upon the research, thinking and creations on peers in a powerful manner. In practice, the version on the desktop is most stable and the iOS app has some bugs related to connectivity and syncing. Although, the mobile platform provides a superior opportunity to leverage this app in the hustle and bustle on the classroom for anytime learning and teachable moments.

Outstanding Presentation Tool
My students love this tool for presentations. They really enjoy having the choice to type or record their comments, and the headphone/microphone technology, although simple, is exciting for them, even after several uses. It is versatile in that in can be used in any subject area and with a variety of grade levels. VoiceThread provides the option for an authentic audience when presenting and is unique in that comments are easily added for collaboration and/or reflection purposes.

A great resource for adding multi-modal discussions to your classroom.
Voicethread is a great tool for teachers who want to provide a discussion experience for students while providing choice for students to respond in voice, video, text or images. One aspect of the definition of blended learning is that students have "choice." Voicethread provides that choice in one space.

A great way to display collaborative student-made books and add voice to them.
My students enjoy looking at other projects and brainstorming new things they could research, write and draw. I liked how easy it was to share with parents, I just send them a link to checkout our latest project or publication. Once my second graders use it a few times with me, they are inspired to use it on their own.

Redefining formative assessment and feedback on the SAMR model
Voicethread is a very versatile tool that is easily accessible to a wide range of learners. By allowing the option for video, voice, or typed comments, it allows learners to differentiate the way they present information. This is an innovative tool and its pedagogy applications are only limited by the creativity of the user!
The downfall is that if you don't pay for the upgraded version, it is very difficult to have a whole class access it.

Voicethread - one tool, myriad uses
Voicethread is an open ended tool - able to be used for any subject and with any age level. Though there is a bit of a learning curve, once students get the hang of it, they are able to navigate independently. We created two screencasts for students 1) how to upload pictures and 2) how to comment. These have come in handy when students haven't used Voicethread in a while and need a quick refresher or when they are home and can't remember which button to press!

A great interactive tool for student response without paper and pencil.
VoiceThread is a gem of an educational tool. This website allows teachers to create presentation and students can participate and respond to the presentation. In this manner, teachers can have pre-recorded lessons and activities that can run through a slideshow with audio and/or text. Students have an avatar as well as the teacher in oder to distinguish who is responding and give the students a sense of individuality. This can be used in school with microphones for audio response, or with keyboards, as well as from home via mobile computing device or even through the phone (for audio recording)! What a great too for flipping instruction or having make up work for students who are frequently absent, on medical leave, or in home and hospice. The VoiceThread is there until you delete and can be used throughout the year to review and be a reference for students.
I gave the set up time about 5-15 minutes, because it really depends on the depth of the subject you are covering. It is easy to use, and very easy for students to navigate and work at their own pace. Presentations can be more than one page and paced to play automatically.

Love Voicethead to communication and collaborate
I have always loved VoiceThread. This tool works well to allow students to add their voice to their creations. I have heard from teachers who have purchased VoiceThread for their student body and like that it can pull from their LDAP server which keeps the roster up to date. Teachers can monitor the content.
Concerns- safety for students under 13 with the free version.

Cool Tool for Cloud-Based Learning
VoiceThread helps students have conversations in the cloud around images, videos, documents or presentations. The discussion is held on one page, which enables the teacher to see the conversations built around a topic. Students can comment in 5 ways: telephone, webcam, microphone, text or file upload, which can make it more useful for students working from home. Students can also draw while they are commenting and have the drawing included in their comments, which can add to their understanding. VoiceThread is a wonderful way to get kids collaborating and great for a teacher wanting to quickly assess student understanding of concepts. Kids love creating their own avatars, but this can get out of hand: I'd suggest the teacher create a file of acceptable images that students can use as a resource. Students can become over-focused on avatars. VoiceThread is a great way to encourage proper writing skills, gives kids a real audience for their work, and an opportunity to practice netiquette, while generating and protecting their passwords. However, VT does not enable a teacher to collect data about student performance. More in depth information can be collected through classroomsalon.com.
