Great tool for math
I like that you can assign a specific math topic to certain students for them to practice and improve their skills.

Increase engagement and skills with fun games and interactive tutorials.
I like Manga High best as assigned lessons aligned with the curriculum. This options allows for students to work individually at their own pace while still being able to do the fun, competitive games that help them build their skills. It also allows me to gage their mastery and suggest additional topics for them to work on if they are struggling or need additional help. I wish the free version had a little more access to the analytics, but it is still an awesome resource that students love and love learning from.

This is a great tool to work with struggling algebra students. It help build up the students numeracy. Another great feature is that the website scaffolds and help the students with the order of operations.

Great interactive activities for practicing math skills in ways that kids enjoyed
I knew that I loved Manga High when my 15-17 year olds loved it. Our first stab at using it for whole class instruction was the mummy game and as the levels progressed, my students felt not only challenged but excited to progress through the game. The terminology used does not always align with some of the terms that we use in the US, but for our kids, it also added another view of how others do the same math but sometimes through a different lens. Let me be clear in saying that this is simply an electronic interactive self-checking worksheet. Where Manga High struggles at is on meaningful application and thought inducing questioning.

Range of math skills through games that increase in difficulty
Overall, I liked many of the games. All of the games have different styles and many are sophisticated enough, with bonus items and actions during gameplay, that they allow students to stretch their knowledge and use strategy to improve their gameplay and performance. All of the games give written steps for how to play, but I would have loved to see visual examples of how the game is played too, because sometimes the sophistication of the game could be a bit confusing for students to figure out all aspects of game play. One positive thing is that there is a section that gives tips for how scores can be improved, that addresses both the math skills and the strategies of gameplay. Again, I just wish that these tips could be made into visual examples, to strengthen their ability to support students.
I also really liked that although the games start off at an easy level, they progress to higher levels of difficulties (by incorporating negative numbers, different operations, etc.), which means that students have growing room within each game and that the same game can be played by students at different levels of proficiency.
I like the website and think it's worth it to spend the time to create the student accounts. I'm not sure about the value of upgrading beyond the basic package, but I guess it depends on how you plan to use it in your classroom over the course of the school year.

Great for practice but doesn't work on all devices.
I think it's great for practice. Students would have to know the concept beforehand to play the games. Otherwise they will just "guess" and try to beat the game that way. The Prodigi is also good but having it timed is not necessarily always beneficial. I would like the website to develop better compatibility with mobile devices such as iPads and android devices.

Fun way to practice math skills without students even realizing it.
Overall I feel that this is a great site for younger students to practice their skills. This is definitely a site you would use for practice after you've taught a lesson or to review a topic. I really like how the number of games, the various skill level and that they progressed in skill the more you did them. While this is a great tool for students the ones who struggling with reading will struggle understanding the directions so I would suggest adding audio to the directions so students better understand. Overall it's definitely a site I would use with my students and own kids to help support and re-affirm their skills.

Compelling Math Games that Challenge, Enrich, Teach, and Reinforce Concepts Aligned to Common Core Standards
This is a fantastic resource for use in all classrooms from one-to-one technology to those with occasional computer use. All challenges are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and are easy to search. It takes only a few moments to browse the content and check out any challenge for its level of difficulty. Teachers can assign specific challenges to everyone with one click or select individual students easily. All of the challenges are in the form of timed multiple choice questions that get more difficult as students answer questions correctly. An incorrect answer will send a student back to one they can master before moving back up again. Students are awarded bronze, silver, or gold badges when they reach specific levels of competency. In addition to the challenges, there are several video game-style Prodigi games that students can play to practice essential math skills. For extra bursts of motivation, schools are often in "Fai-to" matches against other schools all over the world.

Wonderful site for getting concepts across to difficult to reach students.
I like this site mostly because it has the option to prescribe objectives to students in the areas that need the most work.

MangaHigh is well worth the time and effort. It gives teachers the ability to set challenges for their students. The site has recently been changed and it seems a bit more difficult to navigate.
