My Take

This is a fantastic resource for use in all classrooms from one-to-one technology to those with occasional computer use. All challenges are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and are easy to search. It takes only a few moments to browse the content and check out any challenge for its level of difficulty. Teachers can assign specific challenges to everyone with one click or select individual students easily. All of the challenges are in the form of timed multiple choice questions that get more difficult as students answer questions correctly. An incorrect answer will send a student back to one they can master before moving back up again. Students are awarded bronze, silver, or gold badges when they reach specific levels of competency. In addition to the challenges, there are several video game-style Prodigi games that students can play to practice essential math skills. For extra bursts of motivation, schools are often in "Fai-to" matches against other schools all over the world.

How I Use It

Our entire school uses Manga High. We talked the district into buying it after using the free version and loving it. The games are used as warmups, homework assignments, extra credit, reteaching and enrichment opportunities, skill mastery, practice, and to differentiate and adapt lessons for special needs. The site is easy to navigate and use, and our students look forward to playing on it. When we reach the site's homepage leader board, it's a big moment posting the picture for the whole school to see!
