Having worked with other visual programming apps, this one was surprisingly easy for my advance users to jump in and use with little or no instruction. I liked how it added one new feature for each lesson. The visual programming really helps students learn how to code without concern for all of the syntax of coding. It would be nice to have audio help if the student continues to guess wrong steps.

I am trying to plan more lessons that introduce programming logic and higher order thinking in the technology classroom. Move the Turtle is one of my GO TO apps for this purpose. The kids seem to like it . From the the very young to the middle school students, when I use this app, there is a positive learning experience.

Overall, this is a good app for teaching lower and middle school kids to code, but there are free apps that do the same. I liked the option to create your own programs and share them, something the other apps and websites don't offer. While LOGO may not be the best language to begin with, it gets kids thinking about processes.
