Crazy about Critical Thinking with Educreations
This is by far the most used app in our school district. It is applicable to every grade level and subject. The app opens with an interactive whiteboard that allows for image upload, colored notations and voice recordings. As you move from one screen to the next, you can pause the recording. When the document is finished, it is saved on the device and uploaded to an online account. The only improvement would be an audio rerecord feature without having to start from the beginning.

Educreations creates screencasts combining visuals, writing, and audio
Educreations is a free app for iPads that allows people to create screencasts. The screencasts can include images, written text or diagrams, with audio to explain each part. A great feature is being able to have multiple pages, so you can set up multiple pages ahead of recording. A disadvantage is not being able to re-record without losing the image and diagrams.
Teachers can set up classes. You can set screencasts for specific classes. There is also a class code that can be given to students that allows them to create a student account without needing an email address.

Easy interactive whiteboard app
Educreations is an intuitive interactive whiteboard app. Students or teachers can record themselves explaining, demonstrating, noting, or illustrating. An account needs to be created to save videos, but the videos can be kept private. Educreations is a great way for teachers to create a small flip-style lesson or let the students create them.
Students could explain an illustration or graphic. All of your creations stay saved in your account until they are deleted.
