DreamBox places students according to their learning level. It does jump some standards. Teachers are able to assign standards/lessons to their students. Like any other game some students enjoy DB others don't care too much for it.
Like any other game some kids will like it others don't. I have noticed that students who struggle with math do not r enjoy DB.

Develops perseverance! Good use of homework time to reinforce skills learned and master the math standards.
It takes some getting used to when kids first start using it. They can get frustrated with the format and want to give up. I saw my students develop perseverance, which is one of the math practices. It is supposed to adapt for struggling students, but I didn't dive deep enough into it to see how that worked.

Keeps Kids Engaged
I think this a great tool to use, but it shouldn't be the only tool. Fact fluency is a big need in 3rd grade and Dreambox doesn't offer any practice - unless they're going through a specific lesson on one of the operations. I wish kids could get on to practice facts at any time. I also wish some of the lesson were easier for the kids to understand. It should give the kids the benefit of the doubt - like creating angles. It should give them credit when they're in the ballpark of the angle measurement. The time lessons are also ones that are difficult for kids. Kids will get very frustrated and never return to those lessons! The badges and other awards throughout the game help kids stay engaged and motivated to continue.

Great lessons to get students to think critically using their number sense. Love how it builds on what they know and works at their level.
I love this teaching tool! It allows me to see where students are and where they may be struggling. Its so easy to use and kids really like it! Some students did complain about things being too difficult at times, but I am able to go over lessons with them when I see they have a triangle showing they may be struggling.

Fun as a game and the rewards are motivating, and the repetition is good but sometimes when students are incorrect the explanations are not helpful.
Good tool to be used in moderation and with careful thought.

DreamBox Delivers on all Levels!
I was a little skeptical at first (because my kids had only used Prodigy for math lessons). But, since the beginning of the school year, I have noticed that my students have "come around" to the DreamBox math program and really enjoy the interactive online math games (similar to manipulatives) and as an educator, I can align math lessons with the Ontario Curriculum and monitor their individual progress. The fact that this program is able to "change" according to the student's level of understanding is amazing! Personalizing the instruction is what make this Math Program stand out from the rest and I have now joined the DreamBox bandwagon and have nothing but positive comments about this equitable program that reaches my lowest struggling students all the ways up to my more stronger students that need to be challenged! I can even follow their growth and watch Webinars that answer any questions or concerns that I may have while using this program! Very pleased and looking forward to using Dreambox in the Fall with my Junior Level students to help them become successful learners with math added math confidence!

Great tool for individual learning!
I really enjoy Dreambox. I just wish that it showed students when they had passed a standard. We are very data-driven and even the students know about the standards and what it means to know something well enough to pass a standard. I share this information with the students from my end, but I think it would be cool for the kids to be able to see it for themselves.

DreamBox has just been ok for my students this year. I have found it hard to purposefully assign and hold students accountable to doing specific lessons. Also, the sequence lessons are assigned to students in automatically does not seem to be the best.
I don't love this program. My students have become quite bored using it, and if they don't understand how a question is being asked, they get "stuck" on that lesson for a long time. I wish it would have alternative methods of teaching when this happens.

Great Program!
I enjoy using this because it is like a game where students can see their progress and they can create their own goals.
