Dating Culture and Recognizing Pressure
What does pressure really look like, and where does it come from?
Pressure doesn't always look like someone telling you what to do. Sometimes it comes from guilt, or a joke in a group chat, or the assumption that something has already been decided. In this lesson, students consider two sides of the same situation—one teen being pressured to sext and another teen doing the pressuring—and realize that the person applying pressure is often under pressure as well. Students learn to recognize the different ways pressure can show up and what it really means to set and hold a boundary.

- Recognize how pressure shows up, including forms that don't seem like a demand
- Explain how pressure can flow in both directions, so the person applying the pressure may also be responding to it
- Describe what a clear boundary sounds like in a real message
