Building Your Own Perspective
What are you really looking for when you search for information?
Most of the information that teens encounter online arrives without them looking for it. Some of it isn't worth a second thought, but some of it is. This lesson gives students a process for the questions worth pursuing. Working through a complex, open-ended question, students practice scoping what they're trying to understand, exploring a range of sources, and synthesizing what they find. Along the way, they discover that curiosity, not certainty, is what builds a perspective that's truly their own, the kind of thinking no one and nothing can do for you.
