Erin's publishing experience includes launching the Olsen twins' magazine, mary-kateandashley, in 2001; editing online and print publications on topics ranging from music education to teen fashion to Beanie Babies; and writing articles for more than 50 publications -- including the Chicago Tribune, Discovery magazine, Keybank's College Notes, Wealth, Green Building & Design, Medical News, Teenwire.com, and Profile magazine. A graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Erin took web design and comedy writing courses at Columbia College and the Second City Training Center and is the author of The Real Girls' Guide to Everything (2011) and several other nonfiction books. She has worked on editorial projects for Kaplan, the Cartoon Network, YMCA, Ronald McDonald House Charities, McDonald's, Ty Inc., and HowStuffWorks. Erin also volunteered in recent years teaching fifth- and sixth-graders at Chicago's KIPP Ascend Charter School; career training sessions at teen and young adult training organization Jobs for Youth; and classes, webinars, and seminars about journalism and freelance writing for Mediabistro.com and Columbia College's continuing education program.
