Bio

I'm lucky to be a teacher!  Through the years, I've taught students ages 3-17 in both regular education and special education settings.  Most of my experience has been at the elementary  level, and I've taught every primary grades one through five. For the past five years I have been teaching elementary technology, so  I get to teach all of the children in my entire elementary school!  I love finding creative ways to teach all kinds of technology, make it meaningful, stay current, and help the students embrace challenges and 'hard fun' with tech! I also provide a variety of Ed Tech professional development for teachers in my district and also present at conferences, edcamps, and workshops.  I am an avid & eager learner, and attend pretty much every learning opportunity I can!  I'm an advocate for the Maker Movement and all things STEAM, and have created a unique and fun Makerspace in my computer lab.  I also facilitate a club called STEAMmakers for 4th-5th graders at my elementary school and run the morning televised school news program.  I am a member of NJAET, ASCD, CSTA, ISTE, and am a Raspberry Pi Certified educator.  I'm currently excited to be pursuing a Masters Degree in School Administration and will graduate in May 2017!I write a blog called My Primary Techspiration (kerszi.wordpress.com) and am an actively connected educator on Twitter as @kerszi.
