Bio
I left my career in advertising to become a teacher through the New York City Teaching Fellows program. When I worked in advertising, my pro-bono client was the Wildlife Conservation Society. We created buildyourwildself.com as a part of a multimedia campaign. I had so much fun working on interactive educational material for children that I knew I had to begin a new career as a teacher hoping to one day create educational software.
I have been a classroom teacher for third and fourth grade Special Education classes in self-contained and ICT settings. For the last four years I have been the Technology Teacher in my building creating a curriculum from my own lessons and free online materials. I have taught digital citizenship, typing and word processing, photo and video editing, computer programming and coding, digital storytelling and animation, file management, online research skills, and much more.
