Bio
I'm an enthusiastic science educator with experience in non-formal education. I was an Urban Park Ranger for 5 years in Brooklyn and Queens. I also have experience managing an urban wildlife protection area for the Piping Plover (aka the cutest bird in the world). Currently I teach Living Environment and AP Environmental Science at East West School of International Studies, a 6-12 public school in Flushing, NY. I became a teacher to bridge the achievement gap via science literacy. I teach lots of labs because I believe that is the best way for students to learn science. I'm looking to develop a more problem/project-based curriculum in my classes incorporating citizen science where possible.
