Bio
My name is Lauren Armanious and I was born and raised in Greensburg, PA. I have many interests and hobbies including coaching and playing sports (played four years of collegiate softball), cooking, running, doing yoga, and constantly learning! I am also an avid museum enthusiast (I love art history.... Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh are some of my favorite local spots!!). After graduating form Hempfield Area High School I attended Siena College in Albany, New York. I majored in History and Political Science and was a member of Siena's Division 1 softball program. Although I enjoyed my time there I decided to transfer home after completing two years of my undergraduate degree.
I began attending California University of PA in 2008 where I completed my undergraduate degree in History and finished out my softball career as well. I graduated in 2010 with a 3.9 GPA and was named First Team Academic All American. Through the discipline, focus, hard work and determination I learned while at college and while playing a sport I was able to better myself as a person. I decided to earn my Masters Degree in teaching (Social Studies) and began taking courses at CalU the following fall. I graduated from the MAT program at CalU in 2012 with a 3.9 GPA.
After graduating I working as a sales trainer for BILD and CO and also began teaching at various local schools in the Greensburg area. I was hired in 2013 as a full time teacher at Mount Pleasant Area JR/SR High School where I have taught many disciplines including World and American History, Civics/Government, and Criminal Justice. I am also the girls Varsity Softball Head Coach which has become a perfect opportunity to give back some of what made me the person I am today. I am very thankful for all of my experiences thus far and hope to inspire the young adults I teach through fun and exciting lessons, relevant learning, meaningful relationships, and technology integration in the classroom.
I am excited to continue learning and fostering growth through technology education. I have been a Graphite certified educator for almost five years and was a 2015 KTI (Keystone Technology Integrator) Inductee.
