Bio
I grew up in a small rural town in the foothills of Northern California, my dad was an electrician for the local saw mill and my mom stayed at home with my brothers, sister, and I. We didn’t have much money or TV but I was surrounded by books, newspapers, and the great outdoors. When I asked questions about how things worked or why things happened, my parents didn’t just tell me the answers, they encouraged me to explore my questions by facilitating learning experiences that capitalized on my curiosity. I believe it is this quest for deeper understanding that has inspired me to become a National Board Certified Teacher and a Teacher Consultant for the Area 3 Writing Project. Reflecting, analyzing, writing, and sharing teaching experiences with other educators has provided me with invaluable insight. As an educator in my eleventh year of teaching, I strive to foster my student's natural curiosity and inquisitiveness just as my parents did for me all those years ago and my fellow colleagues do for me today.
