Bio
I started my educational career in Anaheim City School District (ACSD) over 23 years ago, where I was awarded Teacher of the Year and spent several years as a coordinator of a $2.4 Million Technology Literacy Challenge Grant. In the year 2000, I relocated to Escondido Union School District (EUSD), where I taught fourth and fifth grades at Central Elementary School. I’m currently a Teacher on Special Assignment for EUSD’s BTSA/Teacher Induction Program. Additionally, I have experience integration technology. I’m one of EUSD’s original Project Live teachers and have received iVIE Award accolades for numerous classroom movies. I’ve been an iREAD teacher and mentor for years and have extensive experience integrating iPod Touches and iPads in the classroom. My classroom technology work is featured on the Apple website and I’m currently an iREAD mentor teacher. I was awarded EUSD 2002-03 District Teacher of the Year and was also Channel 7/39 Inspirational Teacher of the Month, January 2011. While at Central School, my students produced weekly Morning Announcements and my students won EYMF awards for their work. I believe that integrating technology is key to the future and learning is never done!
I have been happily married for over 25 years and have two boys in college, ages 18 and 21. My family also includes two cats named Shasta and Whitney.
