Bio

I strive to continue to expand my professional development in education, as well as in the areas of visual and performing arts. My 10 years of experience with the Stanislaus County Office of Education, as well as four plus years with the San Joaquin County Office of Education, has rendered me highly successfully working with all ages and in all educational environments.

Presently, I am a teacher at a relatively new community school in Stockton, California. Under the umbrella of SJCOE, one.Charter – Academy of Visual & Performing Arts, has set it course delivering arts enriched instruction to reach some of the area’s most creative students. The three-teacher site of 7th through 12th graders has afforded me great room for growth in regard to classroom management and thematic curriculum development. I have been able to put to use many of my skills and abilities, ranging from school organization and constituent communication, to student academic and artistic achievement.

My longstanding working history with the SCOE’s YES Company continued as I stepped forth to direct a cast of nearly 70 students in a fully realized musical production of 'Ragtime, School Edition.' The occupation required my coordination of a dozen professional staff, multiple community stakeholders, countless volunteers, and gracious donors. In my tenure with the Youth Entertainment Stage Company, I have served as production manager on 20 theatrical productions serving K-12 youth throughout Stanislaus County.

The chance to work in such varied environments over my career has provided innumerable and invaluable lessons in leadership, communication and teamwork. I have honed strategies to command attention and demand students’ best. I am assured that my talents and disposition could complement any educational setting, bringing a fun and playful aspect to the learning process, and a professional and optimistic aspect to educational or production teams.
