Stephanie began her journey in education in the preschool classroom as a teacher and technology coordinator for her school. As a Digital Native, she was excited to integrate technology into the classroom. She began by using a SMART board with her students. The way that a three year old student was able to interact with the content was amazing. She was hooked by the amazing new educational technology that finding new ways to make the classroom digitally connected.

Soon after the SMART board in was introduced to the classroom, she was tasked with testing an iPad in the classroom. After doing research on what developmentally appropriate practice looks like with iPads, she began to use the basic native apps, the app store, and settings. Her students were fascinated by taking photos of themselves and their work in the classroom. Soon, digital educational content was popping up in the app store with books, drawing apps, and apps to help students through social situations.

While teaching preschool, Stephanie took classes to further her education in Educational Technology. This led her principal to offer her the position as Director of Technology. In this role Stephanie was responsible for educating students about the importance of digital citizenship. She used the Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Curriculum with her whole school PreK-8. She also started a 1:1 iPad initiative with the 6th, 7th, & 8th graders in her school. She taught this group of middle school students how to use their iPads appropriately and also basic app usage. Her final and most important role as Director of Technology was as a digital integration coach for the teachers in her school. She met individually with teachers to help them learn how to use new technology in their classrooms in a developmentally appropriate way.

Currently, Stephanie works as an Educational Technology Integration Consultant, working with schools and districts around the country.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, hanging out with her family, and enjoying the great outdoors. She is an avid snowboarder in the winter, and spends the summers hiking the great national parks. She also enjoys presenting workshops to teachers on tools to help integrate technology into the classroom and is a Google Certified Trainer. Stephanie also enjoys web development and developed several school websites.
