I've been associated with education since I first set foot in a classroom as a high school English teacher in 1971. Since that time, I have also worked as a professor in a teacher preparation program before moving into the area of educational technology with the Minnesota Educational Computing Corporation (MECC), which developed dozens of award-winning software programs such as The Oregon Trail, Number Munchers, and Lemonade Stand. I later joined MECC's partner, The Learning Company as Vice-President of Online Services.

From 2002-2012, I was a key administrator at the all-girls college preparatory Castilleja School in Palo Alto, CA. As Director of Technology, I led the school's initiatives to create an IP telephony system, a 1-1 BYOD program, integrate technology throughout the curriculum, and to increase operational efficiencies, cyber-security, school emergency response, and environmental sustainability.

Currently, I work as a consultant with schools who are interested in moving into 1-1 programs, updating their technology plans, conducting hardware and software audits, and create forward-looking faculty professional development plans.
