Community Review for XtraMath
My Take
I have used XtraMath with grades 1-5 for several years and I will continue to use it. It does not have the fluff of added games but it provides the repetitive practice needed for many to learn math facts. It is not students' favorite math practice site due to the lack of games but because it takes a short time, is at their level, and done independently I hear very little complaints. I will continue to use this with my students and recommend it to my colleagues.
How I Use It
I use XtraMath in my math classroom and after school tutoring programs. Students easily log on through our class page and the program logs them off after about 3-5 minutes of practice. Students are simply answering fact practice questions as fast as possible. As students pass an operation (+, -, *, /), we print off certificates provided by the program to post in the classroom. Parents can also connect an account from home to the classroom account for students to have additional practice.
