This is a fabulous tool for students who are ready to customize their own websites and produce their own content.

My Take

I love Weebly and I was pleased to use it in my classroom. I enjoyed the opportunity for students to customize their own web pages, but the variety of options could get distracting and slow down students from the actual goal of various assignments using their websites. While it was very engaging, I am considering using a tool that is less customizable in the future.

How I Use It

Students create websites and can post on various topics, from classroom field trips to creating posts as summative projects. Setting up the websites initially is time consuming and requires a teacher who is a bit tech savvy and can walk students through the process (ideally by projecting the webpage on a SmartBoard and modeling each step).
