Turn students loose creating websites with Weebly!
Community Review for Weebly
My Take
Weebly has a simple user interface that students can use to quickly setup websites for project and problem-based learning. One interesting feature is that students can search for copyright-free images that are free to use and share. One drawback is that student pages can start to look the same, so creativity must be encouraged and demonstrated from the beginning.
How I Use It
Students create websites for various activities, projects, and problem-based units. For example, students create a site from the standpoint of their chosen historical or fictional character. They develop biography, and write information such as blog entries and career paths. Other students review the websites for correct grammar and historical and informational accuracy. Rubrics and checklists guide their progress and provide formative assessments throughout the process.
