Good Reference and Homework
Community Review for United States History
My Take
I do not think it is designed as a teaching tool, but more as a reference tool. As a reference, it isn't bad. I believe it is still being updated, which is logical. I do think it can be used at home or during a research project. It is also beneficial to teachers that just need more than what a district endorsed textbook provides.
How I Use It
My special education students were studying for an upcoming test for their general education social studies class. I used this app to find information to help them fill in a teacher generated study guide. The references materials were good, and helped with some questions. I feel they would have gotten more benefit from using their own textbook. This did not provide information is simplified terms, like many needed. Also, they had to do more "searching' for answers which took these particular students a lot of time.
